In 1971, Enviromatic Corporation of America™ (Viro) began with a simple but ambitious idea: that cleaning and servicing grease exhaust systems should be done to the highest and most exacting industry standards. That founding principle still drives every job we do today.
Today, Enviromatic has gone further than any other company with our Roto-Steamcleaning™ and Powerwashing division, the world-renowned EnVIROspection Nationwide Inspection Program, and the innovative EnviroLeakTest program. Larry Pfleiderer, a leader far ahead of his time, purchased Enviromatic. His original innovations in cleaning, customer service, scheduling, quality control, and equipment design became the foundation for everything Enviromatic does today — and became industry standards across the KEC field. Larry passed away in May 2019, deeply missed by all.
Don Pfleiderer, current President and Owner, began working at Enviromatic. Directly involved in daily management and strategic vision, Don has led the company's innovation and growth for over 50 years.
Acquisition of the Blower Balancing and Repair Company expanded Enviromatic's capabilities beyond cleaning. Opening of the Des Moines, St. Louis, and Kansas City branches marked the beginning of Enviromatic's national footprint.
The acquisition of Majestic Cleaning of Rockford, IL pushed Enviromatic eastward and led to additional shops being opened in Houston, Chicago, Dallas, Austin, Denver, Atlanta, Columbus, Orlando, Ft. Lauderdale, and Woodbridge, VA.
Don Pfleiderer was elected to the IKECA Board of Directors in 2012 and served 2013–2019. He remains a member of the IKECA Standards Development Committee, shaping ANSI standards for kitchen hoods and grease exhaust vent systems.
In March 2020, Enviromatic moved into a new, state-of-the-art national headquarters building in Bloomington, MN — a testament to the company's continued growth and investment in its future.

Beginning in 1974, Don has been directly involved in daily management, strategic vision, customer service, consulting, and hospitality association duties. His accomplishments include the development and patent of the ViroGuard grease containment system and the creation of the EnVIROspection Nationwide Inspection Program. He is a nationally recognized trainer for restaurant associations and fire inspectors.
